About Suzanne Slattery
As an instructor, Suzanne Slattery has been an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified fitness professional for over 20 years. Suzanne graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead MN with a BA and BS and became a licensed social worker in the health care industry. As a social worker, she worked with many people with chronic and acute conditions. Suzanne is concerned about the physical and emotional pain that these conditions can have on a person and their family. As a social worker and fitness instructor Suzanne realizes that she has the power to reach out to these people and to help them live better, happier lives. You’ll find that Suzanne is passionate about helping people take ownership of their health and well being. The ultimate goal being to return to successful living, maximizing physical capabilities and wellness.
As a fitness professional Suzanne has also received training in yoga. Her initial response to yoga was that it would be helpful in assisting clients recover from their workout. After teaching and practicing yoga for 16 years she is a true convert. Suzanne knows how beneficial yoga is in challenging the body and mind. The restorative powers of yoga can help with chronic and acute conditions as well as bring peace of mind and relaxation to anyone who chooses to practice.
Suzanne’s certification as a Silver Sneakers fitness instructor as well as training in longevity and wellness has helped her to better understand the needs of seniors. She loves working with seniors who are dealing with chronic or acute conditions as well as those who want to preserve their current state of health and wellness.
